Born and raised in Maplewood, NJ, 12 miles west of NYC, Marianne moved to Bozeman, MT in 2015 to pursue a full-time career in pottery. Although she received a degree in Ceramics from New Jersey City University in Jersey City, she considers herself mostly self-taught.
Founded in 2017, Basiclai (bay-si-clay) is a pottery studio concentrating on utilitarian dinnerware, kitchen tools, and home decor. The style is simple, clean, and neutral.
